Roswell Rotary Welcomes Samir Abdullahi from the Fulton Economic Council

This Thursday, Roswell Rotary is excited to host Samir Abdullahi, a prominent leader from the Fulton Economic Council, as our featured speaker. As an advocate for economic development across the region, Samir has played a pivotal role in fostering growth and prosperity for local businesses and communities. He will be sharing insights on the economic landscape of Fulton County, current initiatives, and future opportunities for collaboration.

The Fulton Economic Council has been instrumental in supporting a wide array of economic projects, from small business support to large-scale developments, and Samir’s vision continues to guide these efforts. Attendees can expect to learn about how Rotary and local organizations can partner with the council to strengthen economic resilience and improve the quality of life for our neighbors.

Roswell Rotary members are encouraged to attend and participate in this engaging discussion, which will highlight how our community service efforts align with economic development initiatives. As always, guests are welcome, and this is an excellent opportunity to invite potential new members to experience the value of Rotary.

Don’t miss this chance to learn more about how we can contribute to the ongoing success of our local economy. See you there!

Roswell High School Student and Teacher Honored

Congratulations to Roswell High School Student of the Year Miss Sophie Hubscher and Teacher of the Year Mr. Derrick Burton.

Welcome New Members-Inducted March 20, 2025

Welcome to Walt Burnnotes, Dean Robertson, and Brent Sherota, our newest new members!

Speaker Roswell Rotary Welcomes Samir Abdullahi

Please welcome Samir Abdullahi to Roswell Rotary Club! Looking forward to his insights about economic development. Samir Abdullahi is the Director for Select Fulton, Fulton County’s economic and workforce development initiative.

In this role, Samir manages both the economic development projects team in addition to the Workforce Development division of Fulton County. His roles include recruiting new jobs and capital investment to the county, preparing incentive packages and directing Fulton County’s $3.2M Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act funding. Over this 10 year career, Samir has successfully spearheaded efforts that have resulted in the creation of thousands of jobs in Georgia – and hundreds of millions of dollars in new investment — through the high-profile corporate relocations and expansions of firms such as Boston Scientific, Fiserv, Halyard Heath, Microsoft Corporation, ASOS, Pandora, Visa, Morgan Stanley, Deluxe Corporation and Inspire Brands, to name a few.

He was the Economic Development Manager of the City of Alpharetta where he helped to brand the city as technology hub and led the recruitment of large global and regional headquarter relocations like Fiserv Solutions and Halyard Health. He also previously worked for Partnership Gwinnett, Gwinnett County’s public-private economic development initiative. A graduate of the University of Georgia, Samir holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations. He also holds a master’s in public policy from Georgia State University’s Andrew Young School of Policy Studies. Listed on the 2023 Georgia Trend 500 and a recent recipient of both the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s and Georgia Trend’s 40 under 40 awards.
